I’m here to foster growth, encourage reflection, and cheer you on.

Lucy Gunter, MSW, LMHC

 My Approach

I believe therapy is a place where we can slow down enough to notice what is happening beneath the surface. Together, we can explore the patterns, relationships, and experiences that have shaped you, including the parts that may be difficult to put into words.

My approach is relational and psychodynamic, with an emphasis on the body and what it can tell us. I’m interested not only in what you understand about yourself, but in what you feel, avoid, long for, and experience in the room with me. Our relationship becomes part of the work, giving us an opportunity to notice old patterns and experiment with something different. For some clients, I also offer ketamine-assisted psychotherapy as an additional way to access and work with inner experience. We'd talk through whether that's a fit for you as part of our work together.

There is room for curiosity, humor, creativity, grief, anger, and tenderness. My hope is that therapy helps you feel more connected to yourself and more able to move through the world from a place that feels genuinely your own.

My Specialties

Anxiety

Your mind is constantly racing. You’re exhausted and overwhelmed. Together, we can slow down and cultivate calmness.

Life Transitions

Change is hard. It can be dysregulating and spark uncomfortable thoughts and feelings. In our work together I can help you process transitions and find solid ground again.

Relationships

You feel out of sync with your partner. Perhaps you’re fighting too much or can’t seem to communicate effectively. Psychotherapy will improve your communication and connection with your partner.
